The development from consumption-oriented 20th century, into the environment-oriented 21st century is now requiring engineers in this new era not only to have mechanical knowledge and manufacturing skills in pursuant to advanced function and performances but to fully understand the importance to preserve and manage the environment, and to solve environmental problems with high ability.
The Department of LIFE, Environment and Materials Science offers students various fields of environmental expertise: These fields include biology and chemistry as the basic studies, life science, environmental science and other applied studies related to these fields.
Through these studies, we aim to foster advanced environment-oriented engineers.
The department has two courses; “Fundamental Course of Life, Environment and Material Science”and “Advanced Course of Life, Environment and Material Science.”
Students must choose either of the two courses when move up to the sophomores.

Students in this department learn the basics of new material developments related to nanotechnology.

Introduction to Life and Environmental Science(Biology)

The popularity of environmental preservation jobs and its importance have increased in recent years. These jobs have been receiving much attention in order to get such a job are required to have qualification and/or licenses. Along with this trend, we proudly open qualification-training seminars to our students who would like to acquire these qualifications and licenses. These seminars include "Pollution Control Manager", "Biotechnology Certification" and "Dangerous Material Dealer".
