Hiroyuki Fujioka (Dean of Academic Affairs and Professor)

Hiroyuki Fujioka was born in Mie, Japan, in 1975, and is a Dean of Academic Affairs and a Full Professor in Department of System Management at the Fukuoka Institute of Technology, where he has been faculty since 2008. He received the B.E., M.E., and Dr.E. degrees from Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, Japan, in 1997, 1999, and 2004, respectively. From 2002 to 2008, he was with the Department of Information Sciences, Tokyo Denki University, Saitama, Japan, where he was an Instructor until 2005 and afterward was promoted to an Assistant Professor. His research interests include theory of splines and its applications to character engineering, image processing and robotics, etc. Dr. Fujioka is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Institute of Systems, Control and Information Engineers (ISCIE), Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ), and Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME). He is a recipient of the 2004 Sunahara Prize and Young Investigators Award from the ISCIE.
