The provision of ISAAC Award

During the Second Congress,there will be ten ISAAC awards , each with a citation and $500.00 USD given by ISAAC for the best reseach done by young mathematicians (age not over 40 in 1998 ) The areas considered are



  1. Complex Analysis
  2. Real Analysis
  3. Appied Mathematics
  4. Computer Algebra Systems and Hybrid Computing
  5. Theory of Integral and/or Differential Equations
  6. Functional Analysis
  7. Topics that are closely related to Analysis and its applications.


The citations and cash awards 500USD will be given to those award winners at the opening ceremony 17th August 1999. The awards will be decided by an Awards Committee, which is chaired by the Vice President of ISAAC, C. C. Yang. All the borad members and Sessions' organizers are welcome to recommend up to three candidates (along with the assessment of the nominee's research work , candidates' CV, and up to 5 representative published papers or book manuscript (published or un-published) to any Award Committee member for the consideration. Individual can also apply by himself/herself, by sending a brief cv and description of his/her contribution ,along with up to 5 representaive research papers (published) or books and a list of 5 potential assessers to

ISAAC Award Committee


  1. The purpose of the Awards: To promote the research on Analysis and its Applications and identify and reward excellent young analysts.
  2. Award Committee and its term of references
    The Committee members are :
    H. Begehr, A. Bourgeat, E. Bruning, A. Fasano, C. Fitzgerald, A Jeffery, J. Kajiwara , P. Tamrazov and C.C. Yang (Chair)


The Committtee will discuss the term of references and the procedures,etc. Particularly the Committee will invite a group (5-8) experts to serve as a panel to rank the candidates for the Committee to make the final selections. Each of the Committee members and Board members will be asked to nominate up-to three experts . The Committee then will decide the 5-8 experts.

Deadline of the Application or nomination (to be received by the Committee or C.C.Yang ) is 31 May, 1999.
