An irreplaceable research life is waiting for you!

Many students enter university with the goal of finding employment after graduation. Our university is often referred to as having strong support for employment, and it indeed provides extensive career support for students. However, another possible path is advancing to graduate school. In graduate school, rather than mainly learning from instructors as in undergraduate classes, students are expected to conduct research independently and actively acquire knowledge on their own.

For example, classes are often conducted not in lecture or exercise formats, but in seminar-style sessions. From the perspective of companies as well, skills such as research ability, reporting and presentation skills, and discussion ability regarding specialized technologies are highly valued.

The following picture is slides when we presented the result of the verification on numeric character association by Hopfield network in Information Media Engineering exercises 2.

In these classes, you will be able to experience "discussions targeting more specialized technologies" that you can’t experience in undergraduate four years. In order for you to be able to have such a discussion, you first need basic knowledge of specialized fields. In the lecture and exercise form which is the method of study of a beginner, you will do only what the teacher told you after all and you will learn only the basics. In graduate school, you do one step further study (rather than research!).

In our laboratory, we encourage students to consider advancing to graduate school. Of course, this is not mandatory. However, if you have even a slight interest in research or a strong curiosity to explore specialized technologies more deeply, we highly recommend considering graduate study.
