Catalog design adjusted to the user Kansei

In recent years, we often see e-catalogs instead of paper catalogs. A typical e-catalog is only changed just an electronic file of a paper catalog. But depending on the design, this catalog seems that various things can be done. For example, when user looks e-catalog, Our e-catalog system obtains user gaze information, analyses the favorite designs of the user and presents the products that he/she prefers at turning each page. According to that can provide an original catalog for each user. An overview of this system is shown in the figure below.

Application of interactive evolutionary calculations to electronic catalog systems

As a prototype of such a system, we are constructing an interactive evolutionary computation system based on running shoes. As shown in the figure below, the interface that presents the design is an image of a catalog, and this catalog uses interfaces of various design arrangements.

System interface

This system uses the user’s gaze information for design evaluation.Because of based on the catalog, this system targets at only a single user.

In addition, as introduced in the Analysis of Human Kansei Evaluation, users have a wide range of tastes. We consider this item in the e-catalog system, and devise of an evolutionary computation for multimodal retrieving.
